Kicu's Story

His name's KICU^^, keep in mind it! Please don't ask me when he was born or where he comes from, 'cause we don't have any idea! Unfortunately he has forgotten his past and that's why he's always on the run. He will meet a lot of new friends and I'm pretty sure he’ll find his path.

A REASON TO..
There's always an explanation for everything, even for the trivial things...
This character is born in a period in a very creative period: whenever someone really believes in a goal of his life, things will become much easier. Kiku reprehesent the kid that you can find into everyone, a metaphor that nobody can make it vanished.

1)Kicu represent the kid that you can find everywhere, a metaphor that nobody can make it pointless.
2)He's naked, he hasn't got any kind of prejudice, without any logos, he's simply uncontaminated!
3)The "X" he has got on his tummy is the navel, the first scar that everyone of us keeps since the birth: our eternal and universal link with our past.
In my point of view, it somehow represent the purpose to leave the family nest, searching for our own path.

DESIGN
There are many aesthetic influences as Super Mario Bros, Nintendo characters, Tikidoki, Manga culture, street, urban toyz and Keith Haring. Graphically he's very simple and easy to reproduce; thanks to the black and white colors, he's easy-fitting with any kind of support.

Kicu's Toy

After almost two weeks of hard work, I have  finally created Kicu's Toy. I've put a tuft so it can be more fitting with the sketches I draw. The Toy version differs just a little bit from the original sketch but I believe that there aren't many differences from it.

This is the first version I made. I really hope to make another one putting some new elements in order to have a small serial replication. My goal is to create a tailor made toy customized with the style of the customer. Just imagine a Punk rocker Kicu!!

Regarding his arms, I've to admit I can do better. At the moment this Toy can just move them backward and forward. It would be awesome to figure out a way to make them completely jointed. At this point of time, the fact that he's got arms is already a miracle!
